Nidec Corp., a Japanese electric motors to industrial automation systems company, announced that the company will construct a new facility in China.

With a total investment of $500 million, the new plant will specialize in manufacturing motors for electric vehicles.

Nidec is planning to build the facility in the Jinpu New Area in the port city of Dalian, north-east China, about 500 kilometers east of Beijing.

Last month, the company agreed to acquire Japanese industrial automation products and services company Omron’s automotive electronics business for $890 million.
